The need for speed . . .

Re: The need for speed . . .

A good scanner in the TC or any other Turbo is a must. 930 on our bird love it. Never had an issue with high head temps on climb out or High power cruise climb. Usually around 340 never touching 360. 35 inches 2500rpm 30-31gph. What kind of full power takeoff fuel flows are you guys seeing? Had a Turbo Dakota that ran very hot in climbs, factory full power fuel flow was way off. After adjusting Temps stayed around 330 on Hot days. 65% power chart is within a knot. 75% power chart no way with that fuel setting has to be way higher to keep 5 and 6 happy on our bird.

Re: The need for speed . . .

I cruise lower, 29/2300 or 25/2300 if I wanna make a 3 hour leg from the tabs.

At those settings, ~19-20 gph at 29 inches, 15-16 gph at 25 inches. Those will make me 165 and 155 knots respectively.

My cylinders are not that cool, more like 380-390 on 5 and 6.

I can get LOP at ~12.5 gph (just) but the power loss isn't worth it. Reducing throttle is a better tradeoff.

Re: The need for speed . . .

170? That is really fast.

29/23@ fl100 = approx 160-162kts tas.
mine has the Aerodyme gimmick as well as tks (which costs about 7kts)
All in all I am on poh speeds.

Toss in the 320bhp jetfueled turbodiesel and you will be looking at 200kts at 12 gph
