The fly in

Re: The fly in

Great trip and a fantastic fly-in. Thx. to Sid and his crew for the phenomenal job and to Ken for supplying his tent and all the other stuff he brought to make the convention a success. Thx. to Mark, my chauffeur, who was very kind coming to Toronto to pick me up and dropping me off after a very long day of flying. Hope everyone got home safe!

Re: The fly in

I bugged out early, wheels up about 5:30

Lots of us heard you go over in the morning and were asking at breakfast if anyone knew who it was. Whatsamatta, had to get to church on time? :D

It was good meeting you Byrne, and thanks for all your work putting the fly-in together. Thanks of course to Sid, Ken, Ian, and everyone else too. It was a great event.

See youz in Sedona.

Re: The fly in

I saw we are planning Sedona next year? Do we have a date?

I'm sure there will be a more official announcement to follow. However, at Saturday night's dinner at Jekyll we were told that the 2011 COG fly-in will be at Sedona,AZ on Sept 23, 24, and 25.

Re: The fly in

HI on behalf of your crew - Ken, Ian, Byrne, Lonnie, David Loose & Mary (wet clothing) Beth Maddox and Pete we say you're welcome. You must acknowledge the Board for its choice of such a great team right!:)

Please post your nice impressions of the way above & beyond airport service Richard van Inderstein and his crew gave us - post on the 09J airnav airport page - thanks for this it will help keep such airports open for all of us.

Re: The fly in

Speaking of pics and id's and passwords... is there anyway to get a separate userid and pw for copilots, without paying a second COG fee?

MB would like to be able to read and participate here, but Lord knows I can't trust her posting as me, or worse, marking my threads all read!

Re: The fly in

Just have MB open her own account, it's free for all.

Re: The fly in

David,

Great last pic. Couldn't help recalling... "Tower, permission for a low pass... Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full... "

The shot is a great t-shirt print for the 2010 Fly-in

:-))

Re: The fly in

I just received the following e-mail from the support at Jekyll. They are have the same problems some of are having keeping their airport open due to the real estate developers and any ammunition they can get would helpful.

Hi Kenneth,

We enjoyed meeting all of the nice folks from the Commanders Group and hope that many will return to Jekyll in the near future.

As mentioned in our conversation today it will be very helpful if we receive positive comments about everyones experience on Jekyll and the Jekyll Island Airport.

Attached is a copy of the memo we discussed.

It was a pleasure to meet you and I thank you for any assistance with the comments.

Best regards,

Clayton Porter

Yes I think due to her being on the 09J team she should get a freebee and also because some would say she was one of the wet T-Shirt and clothing woman of COG!

Re: The fly in

I had a blast and great to meet everyone. But, I can't help but wonder if Pete and I are the only pilots who arrived home without their beloved Commanders? :( The nasty front left me grounded me in NC. Drove the rest!
I hope everyone got home safe and sound!
Especially you Pete, for what you went thru you sure gave a lot of laughs at the fly-in
Thanks all
Don
