I thought I renewed my account again awhile back but I don’t have any privileges to the forums … and I just tried again to do it and when I click the purchase link it just says “things aren’t working right now”

I thought it was weird I couldn’t find any posts about the pitot tube looking for help trying to figure out how to unclog mine ….. but I finally figured out it’s saying I don’t have privileges to post/see the “registered member” forums currently … but I was on them a month or two ago, which is also when I thought I had renewed my membership but maybe not.

Either way, i don’t mind even paying again even if I already did once, but the “purchase link” under “renew” isn’t working.

Is there another way I can do this? Was hoping to head to airport later to try and fix my clogged pitot tube, but without access to forums … to look for help/posts related to it ..can’t really do anything as I couldn’t find anything online about the commanders pitot … and best I can tell it’s only a ram air hole on it, which I didn’t realize prior to this there were any that only had 1 hole :)

Thank you for your help.

Hi Phil,

I just took a look and that last subscription activity I see for you was 3/1/24. If you had some other payment (perhaps by another email address), shoot me an email with a receipt to gsm at 3maudio.com and I'll get it updated. In the meantime, I manually added a couple weeks to your account for you.

Next time you try to renew and get that error message, please send me a screenshot of the page. There is nothing in our error logs from your attempts, which makes me feel like you're getting an error from Paypal (And which I can't really fix). A screenshot will help clear up my confusion as to where this is happening.

Ha will do. I’ll try again here momentarily.

You would think as a guy who owned a software company and designed and supported software for 25 years …. I mighta shoulda thought of that and done it proactively :)

It does look like a paypal error, but it kinda looks like its a “paypal error” and it definitely is …but it may be the link address/variables that is being sent in with the link (only think that because I actually just made a paypal payment via another website for something I ordered ….and it worked fine) … this is the exact same one I got the last 2-3 times I tried. Is there a paypal account I can go ahead and make a payment to manually just so I can get access back to the forums?

This is the link address that shows in the paypal error page after it loads:

And the image of paypal error page is attached

This is the link behind the button I’m clicking on the “Purchase” button
which I’m sure you already have access to ..but again, as a 25 year software guy I shoulda done better the first time I posted the message so trying to be thorough this time at least :)

After I posted it, it hid the hyperlinks and turned them into a link without showing the actually link text which annoys me, seems like everything does this automatically these days no matter how hard I try and just have it show the full link text/hyperlink address.

This is typical Paypal BS. I swear it's the worst payments platform I've ever had to work with, and I've been doing this a LONG time. Funnily enough, I get that SAME error trying to simply log in to my paypal account from any web browser on any computer. The only way I can log in to my personal paypal account is via their mobile app. The web access, no matter what device I try from and no matter which browser I use, is inaccessible and has been for several years.

You can send your renewal fee to paypal@commander.org. Let me know when you've done that and I can manually renew your account over here.

Actually now it shows my membership again and is working again :)

I didn’t even check today because last few times it would just tell me I wasn’t authorized ..

Maybe I’m just one of the knuckleheads that use to think the cd tray in the laptop was a coffee cup holder.

Sorry … I apparently am completely wrong now.

Phil
