some impressive engineering indeed

Re: Something else Rockwell International built

During one of my overseas assignments in the early 1980's we had the opportunity to hit the Paris Air Show. I still recall how overpowering the Enterprise (I think) was sitting atop a 747 transport. Very hard act for the other countries to follow, made you proud to be an American!!

Re: Something else Rockwell International built

Remember a few years back I was flying out of Brackett Field in SoCal going to Camarillo. On the return trip to Brackett flew over the 747 with the Shuttle. I forgot the name of that Shuttle but it was the one doing the tour of California and wound up at the science and Industry museum in L.A. It was somewhere near the Rose Bowl when I flew over it. One of the coolest memories of flying I’ve had.
