Hi All,

I am thrilled to say I am now the owner of a 1976 Commander 114. It was a long and sometimes frustrating search for "the one", but when N4743W appeared on Trade a Plane I pounced. Boy am I glad I did. This beauty was even better then I could have hoped for. I have had her for about two weeks and have over 20 hours so far with so many more to come. `

Looking forward to all the great information from the Commander group.

Next up, IFR training.
I'm in the Phoenix area, and looking for recommendations of Commander experienced CFII to get the training started. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Fly save and see you in the skies.

Welcome to a great group. The airplane is great too!

Congratulations and welcome to the group. The 114 is an amazing airplane and I am sure you will be tremendously happy with it.

Welcome to the group!
Long time COG member Pete Sattig is a CFII who winters in the Phoenix area, perhaps he’ll chime in here on the forum…

Congratulations on the purchase of the plane - I am based in Glendale - GEU.
Where will you be based? As I am sure you will have plenty of questions along the way it is advisable to update your signature to include your name serial number and where you're based.
Pete Satitg is based out of GYR - Goodyear. He owns a turbo normalized 114. He is a CFII with an ungodly amount of commander experience.
You can either look him up in the members list and send him a private message or I'm sure once he sees this he'll send you a note.

Welcome and enjoy the stable platform and solid plane. It's worth every penny.

Welcome to the Commander family. You’ll love your 114, these classic birds become a labor of love. I feel like the Commander is one of the best kept secrets of the airplane community.

Congratulations and welcome!

Rich,

It was good talking with your and your wife last week at the Winslow fly-in. Enjoy flying the 114.

Hi Joel,

I am bases at KCHD. Pete did reach out to me and we will try to connect when he gets back in town at the end of October.

Yes, I do have a good number of questions about the commander. I am doing my best to learn all of the awesomeness that this plane offers. I am sure it will all come with time.

As for the signature, I thought I did add one, but I'm still trying to figure the forum out.

If you find yourself heading down to KCHD for a tasty meal at the Hangar café give me a shout and perhaps we can meet up.

Hi Alan,

It was a pleasure meeting you this past weekend. Were you able to get your flap issue corrected? Hope the remainder of your flight was a smooth one

Great airport - a little busy but has a great restaurant. I like the controllers too . Where we were gone for some time out of the country one of them asked me where I've been when I flew back in for breakfast. When we're in town we generally go there at least once a week for breakfast.

Rich,

Welcome to the group. unlike others I discovered this group while looking for a Beech Sierra, After just a little while I decided to forget the Sierra and start looking for a Commander, so I can say that the Commander Group was the reason I got a Commander. Just a fantastic group of people and a mine of information.

Life is a barrel of fun.

Ken

welcome to the team. enjoy your new Commander.

Welcome to the greatest little group.

Rich,

We did get the flaps fixed and had a good flight to AEG. While here, we serviced the struts, so you can tell your wife it's sitting a lot lower. Finally heading back to CCR tomorrow.
