Anyone know it ?

Thinking about relocating from CDW to N40 as NJ base.

For Florida, if i could get a hanger somewhere close to Ft. Laud or Miami, i'd buy a place down there. Enough of ramp tie-downs.

Haven't been to the restaurant at N40 in a long time, but it wasn't too terrible. As for experience of having an aircraft there, no, not me. :)

I know they were selling house lots adjoining the airport, with taxiway access.

Oh, and there are a bunch of fly-in communities down in Florida. Lots of internet sites that cater to that sort of real estate if you do a simple Google.

And one more thing (second edit): That avatar of yours could be construed as being somewhat pornographic. Depends on ones perspective and mental condition. Like mine.

Alim,

Any special reason to be at Sky Manor? If you don't require hangar you can check out the field I am based at. Very reasonable and clean place.

Just looking for hangers within an hr drive of NYC.
CDW is prohibitive unless its a tiedown. Same for TEB, MMU.
Other options may be on Long Island but LIE-495 is a mess I'd rather avoid.

Re: SkyManor, NJ

He said enough of tie-downs. I just moved to Sky Manor's next door neighbor, Alexandria Field N85, a few months ago to get a hangar. They built 12 new ones and they were snapped up quickly. Sky Manor has the restaurant, which is a nice extra. The biggest drawback is the same as for most small rural fields, high minimums on the instrument approaches. Sky Manor is much better than Alexandria in this regard, 960 vs 1340 and authorized at night. I'm sure I will get diverted sooner or later from my field.

Re: SkyManor, NJ

GAN Genral Aviation News tabloid-style paper merged with a fly-in community Rag and has a special section each month on fly-in communities and tons listed by state.

Re: SkyManor, NJ

CDW is no picnic either for IFR.
LOC RWY 22 is 900 MSL (700 AGL) for DH.

I've been diverted to MMU many times for the ILS 23 in there.

Florida is easier. Since i am not married to any particular city, i intend to take my time and see what i can get down there (ideally an airpark) or perhaps sign a lease at Opa Locka to build one.
