Shoreham Fly In 7th March

Re: Shoreham Fly In 7th March

Fred,

Sorry you couldn't make it Fred, it was a bit bad to the east. We managed to get in VFR from the North. Only 4 crews made it in the end, you weren't the only ones who turned back.

We had a good chat over lunch and we will be starting a thread for suggestions for a summer fly in on the continent shortly. Hopefully see you there.

Re: Shoreham Fly In 7th March

Fred,
It was not the easiests of days and I totaly understand those that did not make it, at one point we thought that we would have to turn back as well. But then decided to try the GPS RNAV approach which worked out fine (first I have ever flown). It was really nice to meet everyone and lets hope we can do it soon.

Just to close off the thread, thanks to all who attended and those who had to turn back, hopefully see you all at the summer long distance fly in. Some photos of the three Commanders who got through the weather attached and we can forgive Matt for coming in a 172 (Commander in annual).

Good to meet you all.

Lawrence,
Not so quick. We would like to see what you gents look like----not just your steeds! (Was going to use a "u" instead of two "e"s, but thought I might offend Scott.) How about a group photo with who's who?

John,

I had hoped that no one would notice that in the rush to get out before the weather closed in we didn't do a group photo. I'll make sure it is the first thing we do next time.

Perhaps one of the others got a few people in the shot?
