Hey guys, I'm looking at taking a quick weekend trip up to Saint Louis with my wife. Neither of us has ever been so looking for advice on a good place to land (St. Louis Downtown?), place to stay, and things to see/do/eat?

All suggestions welcome!

Re: Saint Louis Vacation

kcps is within sight of the arch, real close to downtown. The FBO on the northside, Jet aviation, has a courtesy car, or you can rent a car there. 100LL is expensive there, You can fuel at Kcgi on the way op and down. stop by and see carl. you can get a CPAC discount on the fuel. KCIR is also a good place to get fuel on the way up and down

Re: Saint Louis Vacation

Kennet MO, just south of CGI, as SS fuel alot cheaper than CGI ... nice runways, nice facility. Courtesy cars with restaurants close if you need them. Have stopped there many times, including 2 weeks ago.

Re: Saint Louis Vacation

Spirit is to the Southwest of the city. It'll take a ride to get to downtown. I've never been there so I can't speak about the FBO. I'd check airnav and see what they have to say about it. The Arch is located Downtown St Louis, and if you're gonna stay Downtown, the closest airport by far is St. Louis Downtown (cps) You could land at STL and take the Metro to downtown. Ask first if they'll drive you around to the Metro before you use them. I would also think they'd have some fees

Re: Saint Louis Vacation

I have used Spirit. Nice airport with good facilities but expensive.

Re: Saint Louis Vacation

Looks like CPS may be the best bet since its so close to downtown. Thanks for the great info!

Re: Saint Louis Vacation

Allen, for some reason I thought you were based at Spirit, cant remember where I got that notion though.

Re: Saint Louis Vacation

My folks live close to Spirit (KSUS) and we land there everytime we visit. The Million Air FBO has excellent service and their own rental cars. Fuel is expensive, though.

Re: Saint Louis Vacation

Allen,

We did end up using KCPS and it really is downtown! Great view of the Arch as we came in to land and we visited it, a Cardinal's game, and Busch Brewery. Great town you have up there.
