Ronin Scott Sedam -- First in Flight

Although he has taxied around in 43W a few times, yesterday was 3-year-old Ronin's first flight in our bird. He absolutely loved it. Big smiles the entire flight, "Look at THAT Poppi!" Never heard anything so sweet. But when we landed, my son Conor and I were a bit shocked to hear him sniffling in the back seat under his kid-size headset. He had tears running down his cheeks. When inquiring why he was unhappy, he said as if it was completely obvious,

"I didn't want to land DaDa! We do we have to land? Let's go fly some more!"

Well, duh!

I think we have another airplane nut in the family, just like his Dad and Grandfather.

My grandson turns two in May and I will take him for his first flight. My son (non-pilot) was three and the same reaction. Two is probably early for him to appreciate it but I just can't hold myself back from introducing him early !

Funny how kids respond. Of 4 in my sibling group, I was the only one who shared the flying passion with my Dad. In my Step-Dads family, only 1 of 7. Among my own kids, 1 of 4. The other 3 are happy to get rides and all, but none ever expressed an interest in learning to fly. But Conor always did since he was 3.

My dad was career USAF (Army Air Corps),
I went the Army Helo route,
My two son's are career / active duty Army Avn Warrant Officers,
Here's hopping for a 4th generation aviator . . .

Dad was in the Army air corp. He had to jump out of an Out of control B29 over the pacific, about 150 northwest of Guam. He was one of 4, out of a total of 10 that made it out alive. the Families were in the Dark about who had survived and who didn't for about 4 days. She was not happy, even tho she found out Dad was one of the Lucky ones. So, no more flying for Dad. What happened then? Both her sons ended up Joining the Air Force, and earned a living Flying. Not one of Dad's 6 Grandson's were interested.... Funny how that works
