Renewal of membership

Please also think of the members across the pond.
For us, PayPal is the best payment solution. Check or credit card is not that easy.
By the way ... what is venmo ...?

Okay maybe I should retract the suggestion. Venmo is an electronic payment application which is very common here in the States. Did not realize you did not have it there. :(

The use of PayPal is tied to the vBulletin platform integration and API. There's no other choice for payment integration without switching to an entirely new platform.

And the issue with payments is that PP has frozen our account for receiving payment as they have mixed up tax info and they want to be sure we aren't a drug cartel laundering money through the system. :rolleyes:

PP seems to have no employees that can actually do anything, so some of what our treasurer is dealing with is mailing paper back and forth to them. Frustrating and I'd love for there to be another solution, but we're playing the cards we've been dealt.
 
Have also just tried to renew and hit the Paypal issue. Based in the UK, so sending a cheque isn't going to really work for me. Are there any other options whilst the PayPal issue is being sorted? And are memberships continuing in the meantime?
 
I may have to resort to the check also.

Yes, we're continuing everyone's membership until the PayPal issue gets sorted out. Just post here if your membership expires or is coming due and we'll extend it for you.

Steve - you're all set through 8/30. And Joe, I also just took care of extending your membership.

I have tried several times to renew and just can't seem to get it done. It won't go to PP, and there's no credit card function. Is mailing a check the only way??
 
My subscription happens to come do at end of the month so to test it and see if it was working I just went in and renewed it with no problem. You might try a different PC or tablet than you are currently using.
 
I didn't have any problem about a week ago.

Hi, I have same problem, I have piad renewal by Paypal, but no active subscription. Can you help and check if something get wrong?
 
I can't access many sections of the site. Get the message must be a paid member. I am a paid member, I must be missing something.

Hi Glenn, I tried to PM you but got a message/error that I was at the max of my messages, cleared everything out and still the error.

I renewed via PayPal a few days ago and my SUB seems to have expired. I may have missed the cut off day by one or two with apologies. Can you please look into it and advise ? I need my FIX !! Tony Varga

You're all set until Dec 2025, Clark.

The issue is that recurring subscriptions created prior to the COG move to a new host computer (about 5-6 years ago) are unlinked to the new server. Unfortunately, there's no way to programmatically fix the issue as the linkage is in the PayPal account used for payment - which of course the COG doesn't have access to. We manually fix the subscription for users as they occur each year, but the solution to permanently fix the problem is for each user to cancel the old automatic renewal and create a new one.
 
I have the same problem, renewed my membership via Paypal yesterday but no active subscription now.

Same for me - renewed Nov. 9th and my subscription didn't get updated. Can't message anybody for the same reason as Tony.
