Florida Commander Folks (or those who have flown into FL a lot)

When we wrap up the Fly-in on Sunday I will not be immediately heading back to the Mile High City. I will be headed to the mighty metropolis of Frost Proof Florida. I am thinking of either landing at Apopka so a rental car is easy or trying Lakeland, Avon or Barstow or maybe as far south as Sebring. I will need to have a rental car and hopefully find shade for 42W. Weather permitting, I will be headed back to Colorado Sunday a week after our fly-in.

So any recommendations for cheap hangar space, or fuel or rental cars or really nice people? I should be in FL about 6 days before trying to get back West.

Thanks

Dean

Winter Haven is a nice GA airport, with car rental in the GA terminal. Centrally located too.

LOL - I was like M???? M???? no everything starts with a K... M???? huh... lemme google that! LOL

Well, if I had a better relationship with the Bank of Dean or it's board, I might have better funding options for fuel, time off and hotel - those would be great options - however, the BoD is a stickler for details. Many items this year that were funded (headset, West Yellowstone Fly-In, Mag Rebuild, and new hoses) that were not in the budget but - I am afraid if they saw something with an "M" identifier, and associated fuel, hotel, and sunscreen - they'd probably rescind the approval for the Commander Fly-In. They are sticklers for details!

LOL - thanks for the laugh
