I managed to book a room for Oshkosh without needing to pay for it by selling the airplane. I'll be there early in the week (Mon, Jul 22 thru Wed, Jul 24). Very likely flying in using commercial airlines.

Who else is planning to be there?

We will be there Sunday through Wednesday. Parking/staying in Appleton and flying CFFOM there.

I am flying to Appleton and booked hotel in Appleton as well. This will be my first time to Oshkosh.

I’m there a day or two. I’ve done most options, live 2 hours away driving if need be. It’s a good place to get motor oil if one has a way to get it home.

I’ve never done the hotel room thing, it’s either a tent or come back home.

I’ve been attending since this was a much smaller regional event in Rockford ill. Anyone remember those days?
We usually fly in or drive in and camp. In the past we’ve stayed in hotels and also stayed with locals who open their homes to EAAers. For several years now it has become difficult to fly in on Monday as parking is full.
Unfortunately I can never get there earlier due to a standing commitment, namely my wife’s birthday!
Regardless, I try to attend Airventure since it’s only 200 miles away! See you Monday thru Thursday in the South Forty camping area.

We go every year. We will be arriving in our motor home 2 weeks before the show begins and camping at an electric and water site in Camp Scholler for the entire week of the show. Planning on doing some volunteer work this year as I started doing a couple of years ago.

We go every year. If you want to ditch your room, and save the cash … we started getting big AirBNB houses that are 3–6 bedrooms each year for the week because it ultimately was cheaper than two people ….each having a room for the week … and WAY WAY cheaper when you start talking 3+ rooms that you eliminate.

My goal is to be there.

Hi Everyone.... I should be there.... camping in a tent.

We'll be there as well. Sunday to Thursday. Have a house in Oshkosh.

I think I missed the poll, but I’m flying in on Sunday morning and leaving Thursday morning. Staying on-field at the Super 8. Parking at N40 hopefully as the hotel is right there.

Gang .. we should arrange for a meet up!

I fly this time with my 114 N1938J to Oshkosh. After going there the last 15 years by car or commercial. Finally. I stay like usually at the university. Hope to meet some or all of you. Im flying out of Ft.Myers latest monday morning.

Agreed. Attached is the food concession map published for this year. There are very good restaurants off-airport for dinner, but I don't know what everyone else is doing for transportation (I do have a rental car since I'm staying at a hotel in Fond du Lac).

My last two visits, I always planned to drive in at gate opening (8:30am) and grabbed breakfast. My favorite breakfast concession was located where the Machine Shed is on this year's map, so I'll be headed there again and hope it's still good. The Twin Oaks Food Court is a good choice to meet for lunch (as is the Seaplane Base). I'm open to other ideas for breakfast, lunch, or dinner meetings.

I'd be happy to exchange cell phone numbers via PM, or we can set up a group on WhatsApp or Telegram to coordinate gatherings. I will be there Mon, Tue, and Wed.

Hello. I’m parked in the North 40 in row 610. I went for a cruise today on my Jupiter Bike but didn’t see any other Commanders. Where’s everyone at?

I decided not to camp this year. I’m going to shuttle over Wednesday and again on Thursday or more likely Friday. Flight time is 1:48 without holding or circling. I hope General Aviation Parking is open. If we can get straight into the show we should land @ 8am.

Had the pleasure of a F2F with Frank at the food court at noon and see that Phil ran into Shane in the lobby of the hotel by Friar tucks....

Not sure who they were, but after several years flying up to OSH via KFLD (its just easier for a one day , there and back) - I finally saw some Commanders on my day trip Friday. One was in the North 40 parking/camping, and then two flew overhead departing 27 right after the air show (6:40 or so)....

Then got back to KFLD an 89J was parked all alone with the warbirds :)
