Pat, so nice to see you are scouting a potential replacement ride. Fingers crossed for you!

Hopefully by later July this wanes a bunch. I agree, it’s way to early to think about adjusting Oshkosh dates.

the greatest airshow that never happened!! Damn!

Men, and ladies, lets face it. Our way of life as Americans is being taken away from us by this conspiracy. Yes corona is real, but the government is taking away our liberties under the guise of safety. This virus epidemic is no worse than any other flu epidemic and yet is being played as apocalyptic. It’s not, facts are a stubborn thing, and it’s not and yet we see Americans caving in to this deception.

I have always appreciated that we have kept politics off of the GOG site.

NOT a political statement: However, the irony of the 'situation' at HWY ( being in the Greater DC metropolitan regionGB ml) is there has been lots of progress on the new Terminal ( open), taxiway repaving & runway Maintenance. The Daytime Closure NOTAMS have had very little impact on our personal Ops. A greater impact to the Airport Improvement Maintenance schedule, and our flying is the weather. Our region has had a Tremendous amounts of rain the past 8 weeks. We are fluctuating between a tease of spring & winter still. March was warmer than April or May to date. It's as if the weather has a 'flux-tuating' virus.

I've been keeping VFR current & checking on the plane, on our (altered) travels between MD & VA every couple weeks, but have put off a few projects till it warms up.

Definitely not political- I know you know better;):) (with this group).

Other than back and forth to Show Low I'm not getting much utility out of the plane either. Staying current though. Already warmed up here which is why I'm up in Show Low.

Hard to believe how much things have changed - just last year you graciously hosted us at the tree farm while on our 7 week (7500 mile) tour of the US.
Glad we went last year - not possible now!!

Hi Joel,
Thank you for your genuine post.
This is indeed about our Commander Owners Group and our camaraderie around our airplanes. The effects of this pandemic hits everywhere, be it a large or small impact. We look to each other as a COG community to maximize our common vision to enjoy these wonderful aircraft!
Stay safe my friend,
Pete

With no Oshkosh, all the more reason to make it to the yearly fly-in this year. That’s my plan anyway.

Not being political but living in Michigan, a state very similar to Illinois, I understand Steve's frustration. The situation here is out of control.

From someone who has lost a family member and has a sister living in a rehab facility for 7 weeks, with 6 more to go -thanks to covid - this ain't the flu!!
Shouldn't be minimized or politicized.
A shame so much of the population is so self centered and lack the ability to be responsible adults.

(Might have broken my own rule here)

I'll just shut this down as there probably won't be anything else added about Oshkosh 2020.
