Hi everyone,

I figured I’d introduce myself now that I’m officially the new owner of Commander 114 N127XY.

I’m a relatively new pilot; got my PPL 11 months ago and have managed to fly just over 800 hours since then. Most of my time has been in taildraggers, light sport aircraft, and a few Bonanzas.

I had been looking at Mooneys, Bonanzas, and Commanders, and the Commander ultimately made the most sense for where I’m at in my training. It was also by far the most comfortable of the group.

Over the past three days I ferried the airplane from NY back to UT with my CFII, spending a good portion of the trip in actual IFR as prep for my upcoming instrument checkride. We stopped in VA, AR, TX, NM, and finally UT, battling strong headwinds and just about every type of weather along the way.

Even in those conditions I was impressed with how stable the airplane felt, and the trailing link gear makes landings very easy.

Big thanks to Frank @FS for trusting me with the airplane and Judi for all her insight while I was looking at a bunch of different Commanders.

Looking forward to learning more about the airplane and from everyone here.

Annika

I am guessing that you bought Frank's plane. If you did, that is one well maintained airplane. Good luck with it.
Welcome to the group!

Hoping to meet you at the Fly In @ Branson..

Welcome, Annika.

Congratulations on your selection, and welcome to the group! 800 hour in less than a year has to be a record.

Annika, congratulations on your purchase of a great airplane! This may be the best decision that you have ever made in your life!

Seriously - welcome to the group and good luck with a great example of a 114!

Welcome to the group Annika, we will miss Frank as he is a very knowledgeable Commander go to guy. As stated already, buying the 114 is a very smart decision on your part. Going on 39 years of Commander ownership and have been very happy with the aircraft. Enjoy the plane and have safe travels.

Welcome to the fold Annika. Hope to see you at this year’s Fly-in in September. There will be many learning opportunities for you as a new owner and wonderful networking.
