Hello All,
My name is Mark Rolih (as in rolly polly as I was reminded often in grade school) and the new owner of N1161J. I've already been perusing the forums and found some great stuff. I hope to take my checkride in the next few weeks after learning a little more about how the Commander handles but so far it's great.

Hey Mark; welcome to CommanderLand. as you will see, there's a wealth of AC11 experience here. If you're not familiarized w/the webboard yet,
and you need to find something, go up to the top menu bar and click on SEARCH. type in what it is you're looking for and you'll find several diff.
threads on the subject.

Hope we get to meet you in Dayton!

Congrads one your new Commander 112 Hot-Shot and best wishes on your check ride coming up, sounds like you are taking your check ride in a couple of weeks and not sure if you are doing it in the new Commander or what you are flying now? Thinking it might be better to take your check ride in what you are flying now and best wishes on your oral and flight test.

Re: New Owner of N1161J

Hi Paul,
I have done my training up to now in a 172. My CFI and I have discussed which plane to do the check ride in and have concluded that spending more time in the 112 and perfecting it is probably time better spent than flying a plane I won't see again. I have to say my first landing in the 112 was better than most in the Cessna.

Re: New Owner of N1161J

Mark,

You do need to spend some time with a Hotshot owner, there is a lot more to learn than is in the book.

Your CFI needs to know all this information if he is training you.

I see that KLOT is only 700' msl so this will help some.

I am on my second Hotshot and been flying them for 10 years, I wish someone had taught me what I now know when I first started flying them.

Carl needs to write a comprehensive set of instructions including knowledge that us owners have gained over the years.

Be sure to attend the COG fly in as us "elite" Hotshot owners will get together and swap information.

Life is a barrel of fun.

Ken
