Well some of you might not know me, some won't remember me and yet some might want to forget me.:D I am pretty stoked as I just purchased Jack Peterson's 114 Hot Shot. I am honored to be the new caretaker of 71W since his passing. I will do my best to maintain it as well as Jack did. I would like to thank Judi for putting up with me being a PITA during the search for the right bird for me. For anyone buying or selling, I can wholeheartedly recommend her. Thanks Judi! I bought it in ST Paul Minnesota and Rick Crepas came out and flew us to see Pat Murphy in Sturgis Michigan which is where I'm at now. I had the Sterling spars put in and while the elevators were off and down at Roy Williams shop getting reworked, I took the nose wheel off and rolled it across the ramp to Sturgis Aviation to have it painted back to a nice shiny white. What I am stoked about though is getting to fly it myself with a CFI so I can get my insurance requirement, rusty pilot and my biannual done. So if all goes well, I will be on my way back to Texas on Monday with a fuel stop in Grove,OK. plus see two of my kids. They are bringing score cards for the landing, so we'll see how that goes.
Thinking if I have any money left I'll stop by and give it to Carl. I'm sure he has stuff I need. Hope to see some of you around and I definitely will try to get to the 2021 Fly In.

Cheers,

Craig - cool news. i won't hold it against you that you didn't buy into the TC club again :)

Nice Craig. I know you'll have fun with that Hot Shot.

How did the elevator spars go?

All I can say is fantastic. Took them off Wednesday morning. Put them back on Friday afternoon. Went down to their facility on Thursday for a tour and the place is literally a work of art. Saw my elevators in work and for those of you that choose Roy to do the work, the shipping department even encapsulates the flight controls in expandable foam. They're proud of their facility and their work as they should be. My hat's off to Roy Williams for scheduling me in and making it happen.

Thanks Moazzam, at least it has a turbo right?

contrats Craig! Jack's airplane is one of the "good ones" for sure. I enjoyed talking airplanes with him at the fly-ins. You do her proud! k

Craig, I am overjoyed to hear that you are the new owner of Jack’s 114! Knowing how your last Commander looked, I know 71W is in good hands.
I knew Jack kept his equipment in top shape and I for one would have been disappointed if it sold to someone who didn’t care for it. Kudos to you for picking up one beautiful Hot Shot 114!

Craig

Congratulations and GLAD you are back!!!

Look forward to seeing you at one of the fly-ins (once life returns to normal) :):)

Congrats Craig. Great news you have a Commander ride again!

Craig - WELCOME BACK in the air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a feeling that with you lurking on the board you would be back in the left seat again. I am so happy for you!

Congrats

Congrats on getting another Commander. What time you stopping in Grove, OK? I am down at KGCM and would love to fly up (15 min) to see your bird, if you are passing through in the evening.

Thanks Sean,
Well, I called the family and they were all being tested for the Rona due to a gentleman with COPD. Theirs came back negative, but I couldn't wait around for the results. So I flew on to Lago Vista. I might be back up there Friday. I'll let you know. PM me your number. So anyway, here is what I ended up flying after a 3 hour flight review in early AM yesterday.
