Hi Everyone,
My name is Michael, I am a new member to the group, but not to the world of Commanders! I found my love for Commanders through my grandfather, who owned a 1962 Twin Commander 500 B. I began flying 16 years ago and friended an older gentleman in the early years of flying who was a great guide in purchasing my first commander. I began my flying journey with a Cessna and decided it was time to find my Commander. Years ago I tried to find my grandfathers 500 B, but found it was in disrepair in the middle of Columbia, South America. Disappointed I began my search and bought my first 1977 Commander 114, S/N 14294. My wife named her Lola. I live in California with my wife and 3 children, we own a Farm Management Company and use N427G to travel from ranch to ranch. I really enjoy finding new places to travel by air.
Hope everyone has a great 2021!
Best Regards,
Michael Carr

Michael, welcome to the Commander family!!!

I am sure you and the family will have an amazing time with Lola. The commanders are truly the best single engine airplanes out there. I had super extensive annual last year (about 10 months long) and I learned so much about these airplanes and their construction/systems. They are great airplanes.

This group is a must for every owner and you've made the right choice!

Welcome!

Marcos

Michael, welcome! I'm sure you'll find that this website is invaluable in helping you with issues as well as finding replacement or upgrade parts. I'm in Oregon and have flown through CA many times as my daughter went to school in Palo Also and my brother was in a long post doc in Sacramento. These days I mostly fly in Idaho and Oregon. I also do a yearly trek to Anchorage. Enjoy your Commander. I've had mine for 20 years now. I had the Hot Shot conversion about 5 years ago. Think about this upgrade.
