Well, I finally "pulled the trigger" and bought a 1976 114, N6095Z. I've been looking for several years and with the help of the Commander "Guruess" Judi Anderson was able to make a fairly smart buy....at least for a pilot that is!!
I've been using your website for a couple of years gathering data, personal experiences, maintenance issues, etc and it has been an INCREDIBLE asset.
The airplane I found was living in a rather "abusive home", so hopefully I can give it the TLC it truly deserves. I must say that the 4 hour trip home (with an intermediate overnight to drink a beer or two...) was an absolute joy! I had not flown a Commander before but it has surpassed all those hours and hours in a Cessna, Piper, Beech, & Mooney.
As I go thru the next few years of maintenance and upgrading I really look forward to the help of the Commander Group. Seems like a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic group. Thanks for your help!!

Re: New Owner...finally

Welcome Randy it's a great group. Take the next step and join us for the Dayton Fly-in.

Re: New Owner...finally

Hi Randy, congratulations ! You will LOVE your Commander. I still stop, turn around and admire while walking away after an awesome flight.

The group is here and you will get support, opinions and otherwise :-)

Any way you can make the COG fly-in next week ? We are one or two short of SIXTY Commanders on the line at KMGY !

Enjoy 95Z. Best aircraft ever built. Tony

Re: New Owner...finally

I'd love to get to Dayton, but I don't know yet if the "honey-do" list will let that happen. Something about hearing "you got an another airplane, I get more jewelry" keeps popping up.

Re: New Owner...finally

Welcome randy, It won't be too long till your Commander becomes a treasured 'tool'.
TLC with pride a motto here. Dependability 1st, Cosmetics and 'Tech Toys' always enticing- to a point. For me it's still 'the little things'! Many years of joy!!!

Your not that far from Dayton. And the Ladies have some activities of their own.

Randy, come along with the honey and you'll have a blast while learning more about the airplane.

Congratulations on your purchase. Well come to Commander Land.

Welcome to elbow room.

Re: New Owner...finally

Congratulations Randy. And if you're pressed for time just come to Dayton for Friday or Saturday and enjoy the workshops. What would it be, about 3 hours eastbound for you?

Looks like the weather will be close to perfect in Dayton all week.

Re: New Owner...finally

I still get 'oh ! and YOU have an airplane !' when the discussion about her purchases ever come up......

Its the price you have to pay :D

Re: New Owner...finally

Randy,
Welcome – I’m not sure who’s more excited about Dayton (me or my wife, and she usually has to be coaxed to go up). This is our first COG fly-in. Come on down . . ..

Re: New Owner...finally

Hi, John. Just realized you're from Enterprise, AL. I went to flight school at Rucker, and we lived in Ozark for that year. One of my wife's favorite places we lived, and mine too. Beautiful country, and great people.

Look forward to meeting you at COG-Dayton.
