Hey Will,

It was great meeting you as well ... along with the all of the other first time fly-in attendees.

All-in-all I think is was a great weekend and I hope everyone had a good time renewing old acquaintances and making new ones!

+1

Although I had to leave after the Saturday BBQ, I really enjoyed the time I had and meeting many of you in person. Great time.

Will,

Thanks for everything especially the hand-off on the 1st night restaurant selection and your ""generous"" sponsorship of the 'tab' . . .:)

Small world, come to find out; Will and I were stationed to an Armored Cavalry unit in Germany during the same period (Late 80's) patrolling the East/West German border. While I flew the trace, Will commanded a unit of first line armor along the border. Though we'd been mere 'speed bumps' if the bad guys had decided to roll . .

Hey Will,
Thanks for the hospitality, had a great time in Augusta...made it home to Kissimmee in 2:36, just a few turns to avoid some building cumulus...landed and 15 minutes later a thunderstorm hit the airport...good times!

I was over there in the late 80’s myself Ramstein AB.

Re: New On The Forum

Appreciate the hospitality.

It was nice meeting everyone.

I had to stop in Knoxville and that is as far as I got. Had to get a rental car the rest of the way.

Good thing my harp player is from there and we have a festival show this weekend :D

Excellent call Jason!!

There's never a valid need to push being uncomfortable in the air.

What's that saying? "Its better being on the ground and wishing you were in the air than being in the air wishing you were on the ground"

Yeah... it was a good call. It was nasty weather. I dont think the cloud base changed from anything higher than 1k from Jellico to Louisville if that tells you anything.

Plus... a good excuse to stop and see my friend and have a few pints.

Re: New On The Forum

You know the saying "Time to spare? Travel by air" :-)

p.s. great meeting you Jason, fly safe!

Re: New On The Forum

Hi Will- Yes, Great meeting you, and while we missed the Thursday nite early outung, Camellia & I add our appreciation for your coordination efforts to make everything so smooth flowing for the Flyin.

Last time I landed DNL was 1980, pre Commander ownership, Your community is to be commended for building such fine facilities, a fine Airport and Hospitality; Suoerb Operations. I am sure everyone felt like we were 'Home' on the field!
Looking forward to seeing you next time!
