I recently started flying a 114 and I am loving it.
I want to look at replacing the Clear Lens on the wingtips that have yellowed and gone opaque with age.
Does anybody know where I can purchase these Lens and what they are worth ?

Re: New Member from Australia

Welcome Keith. Clear lens tips and most other fairings can be purchased from Aerofairings in Canada. http://www.aerofairings.ca/

Re: New Member from Australia

Hi Keith,

Welcome aboard.

You can also get the tips from Globe Fiberglass in Florida, USA (http://www.globefiberglass.com/).

I have purchased from Aerofairings and Globe and found Aerofairings to be far better an experience. Much faster turnaround and far easier to trim the lenses. Cheaper too although I do not know current pricing.

Good luck with your bird.

PS John, just saw your post...my turnaround, even with the international shipping to US was less than two weeks. That was in summer 2009.

Re: New Member from Australia

Keith, the aerofairings people are fantastic ... very prompt service, best pricing and nice to deal with. Cannot recommend them higher, and some of the other suppliers here seem to consistently draw less than rave reveiws.

Where are you located in OZ? I spent a month there last year and was lucky enough to spend time with and go flying with two of your fine countrymen, Julian Dinsdale and Rob Hendy. Great guys, great pilots, great hosts. Also drove more than 5000 kilometers in the rental car. loved every minute, well, except maybe that stretch on the freeway south of Brisbane.

Re: New Member from Australia

Hi guys, thanks for the quick responses, I'll certainly be following them up.
For Scott, I recently moved out of Sydney after 60 years for some peace and quiet in the country and stumbled on a group of flyers at a place called Frogs Hollow. If you get back to Aus I can recommend a visit

Re: New Member from Australia

Keith, it took some searching on Google Map, but I found what looks like a beautiful grass strip just west of route 1. Is that it? How cool. I drove right by there in October in my transit between Melbourne and Sydney. I had lunch that day just south of you at a little joint on the water at Eden ... cheap and fresh seafood. I definitely remember the name "Frog's Hollow" -- not every day you see that! Stayed that night just north of you at Narooma. I believe if I lived where you are now, I could be found on almost any day cruising the beaches and cliffs along the ocean there at about 100 meters AGL. Then maybe a weekend trip over to Tasmania. Looks like you could fly across those islands in the Bass Strait and keep glide distance.

What a country!

Re: New Member from Australia

Hello Kieth, welcome aboard down here. We have a get together annually, or thereabouts, so would be good to have you come join us at the next fly in. ( when AD is sorted.)
Call me on 0408 152638 anytime, we can have a chat.

Keith
Welcome - you might also want to try some of the auto headlight cleaners & a buffer, while it certainly will not be as good as new, it can be a significant improvement

Re: New Member from Australia

Great Keith! Nice thing with Aerofairings lenses is that you can trim them with scissors, makes fitting them a breeze
