Hello everyone, I have just purchased a commander 114 and joined the COG. There seems to be a wealth of information on this website and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions. I had my initial flight in the 114 this morning and I can't seem to stop smiling!

Re: New member and proud new owner

Welcome to Commander ownership and to the group! Have you made your plans to join us and show off your plane in October?? Oct 4-6, COG Fly-in in Fredericksburg, TX, T82.

Re: New member and proud new owner

October may be to soon. If I can arrange it I would love to be there. If not this time, next one for sure.

You have a 114! You can easily make it by October! ;) If it were a 112, I wouldn't be so sure... :D

BTW, we are N number neighbors, I'm 114BL!

Re: New member and proud new owner

It is interesting how the N numbers were assigned.

1976 114 S.N 14003 N114BL
1976 114 S.N 14082 N114BM

My 1976 114 S.N 14021 N ended in a J before the number was changed.

1976 114 S.N 14003 N114BL
1976 114 S.N 14082 N114BM

My 1976 114 S.N 14021 N ended in a J before the number was changed.

Mine was not assigned that at birth, I think it was 114LS before, and something else very shortly first. Bob Leon changed it to 114BL when he bought it.

Re: New member and proud new owner

Mike, congrats on your investment into a great aircraft and hobby! You will learn a ton just reading the daily posts here. I read them almost daily. Now you are committed to two women, that is if you have a significant other. The 114 likes to be flown weekly and often, she also likes personal hanger time, just you and her, alone on a Saturday night, winter spring summer and fall. Enjoy your dreams then make them a reality in making those flights, she will treat you as good as you treat her.. Enjoy her and us her at COG!

Re: New member and proud new owner

Welcome Michael. Prime flying season just starting!

Re: New member and proud new owner

Michael,

Welcome to the wonderful Commander community. As you'll learn it's a fabulous group of very helpful people. It sounds like we need a Southern Fly-In soon Y'all. I can't make the annual at T-82, but maybe later this fall.

Commander purchased my plane back from the original owner in 2001 and put through their "refurbish" program where is was stripped down, repainted, interior and avionics upgraded to 115 style and reassigned the N114BM number.

Re: New member and proud new owner

Welcome Michael...get ready for a lot of positive comments everywhere you fly your plane. Hopefully you can make it in October!

Re: New member and proud new owner

Congrats. Since the ink is just dry on my 114 purchase I think you made a great choice :-)

Re: New member and proud new owner

Jim, if that is a recent pic of you with 6033A, the struts look like they could use a little air, the Commander likes to sit tall and proud with its tail tall and proud. I got the same note on my new plane a couple years ago..

Re: New member and proud new owner

Mike,

Does your wife know that you now have a mistress?

You have to keep them both happy..

Life is a barrel of fun.

Ken.

Re: New member and proud new owner

Congratulations Michael and welcome to the perma-smile club!

Re: New member and proud new owner

Thanks Randy, I thought so too (little over one finger showing with full fuel). It was in the shop yesterday to get this taken care of.
