Greetings all - glad to be joining the group as a new member. Currently working through the purchase of a nice 115 that (assuming all goes well) I’ll be basing Lawrence, Massachusetts on the north side of Boston. A bit about me: first career was as a professional pilot, all civilian. After a few years instructing and working my way up the corporate path I ended up flying Gulfstreams and Challengers out of KHPN for a global company. My dream job. I left flying in 2001 and after raising kids and putting them through college I’m now getting back in the saddle for pleasure. I’ve flown very little over the last 20 years, but each time I have the stick and rudder part has been like riding a bike. Got my medical in December and plan to ease back into things with a thorough flight review, instrument proficiency, etc., no rush to do anything. Total time is approaching 4,000 hours with (lapsed) CFI/I and zero time in a Commander. I’m buying one because I’ve ever since I was an instructor at KBDR in the early 1990s this was the airplane I always wanted. I’ve got insurance lined up (boy has that been an education in current market dynamics) and I’ve connected with Judi at Suncoast…what a treasure she is to this group. I’d welcome any introductions/recommendations for flight instructors in the Boston area that can work with me on a proficiency program, so thanks in advance. In the meantime I’ll be digging through these threads for all the great info I’m sure to find on every upcoming stage of my new ownership adventure. - Peter
