Re: New Commander 114B Owner
Update: At 1925 TTH now. I have put 50+ hours on this airplane since I bought it in July. Lots of trips to Midland and Houston, and one great trip to Oshkosh.
The engine is good - keeping an eye on it with 25 hour oil changes, oil analysis, and a new analyzer. I am getting a panel update next month: GTN 750 and GTX 345.
The original paint and interior still look great (I had the interior detailed about two weeks ago - looks as good as new).
I have finally figured out (re-learned) how to use the KLN 90B that is in the plane. It took me forever to figure out how to couple the KFC200 to the 90B for RNAV approaches. Of course this 90B is three weeks away from being removed from the panel - but I did not let it win!
One more thing - this plane is AWESOME to fly in IMC. This is an unbelievably stable air frame in all kinds of weather. It really gives you alot of confidence. I don't fly through "RED", but "GREEN" is not a problem or a challenge. It really is that good of an airplane.
To anyone sitting on the fence about buying one of these - get off the fence. Call Judy and get yourself the best single engine airplane on the market.
