Rick! Looks like you are flying today, Monday? I cannot get out today, but tomorrow is supposed to be nice (and warmer, too) most of the day. I need to get the bird out. Want to meet in Jackson for breakfast? Maybe we can get Murphy out, too. Tuesday morning is unusual but what the heck.

I got a late call for a Wings of Mercy flight, Mom & Baby, trying to get home to Marquette in the UP from U of M Ann Arbor. Fly to the old Sawyer base ... great place ... from AirNav.com:

Surface: asphalt/concrete/grooved,
With the shoulders, the runway is as wide as a football field, lol. Great place to learn, you can do 6 or 8 touch 'n go's easy!
WX looks fantastic for a trip up over Mackinac then west to KSAW. Everything will be snowed over. Some high clouds later. No precip at all. Will be gorgeous.

Willow Run, KYIP, home base, sports this as its primary runway:
Runway 5R/23L Dimensions:*bleep*7543 x 150 ft.
I'd say the "shoulders" are no more than 25 feet wide though. So it is a mealy 200ft. wide compared to KSAW's 300'.
