Looking for Canadian Commander Owners

Wayne Daviduck
Alberta Canada
GWJJ 112A SN 219

Just had a post from a new member in Dawson Creek this week. What City are you near? We had another owner from Grand Prairie who used to post but have not heard from him for awhile. We have several in Ontario.

Hi Wayne, quite a few (by Commander standards) here in Ontario

C-FFOM is owned by Rod, Peter and I and is out of Kitchener ( 112 s/n 27 )
Phil Lightstone has a Commander in Buttonville (there are two there)
Peter Milojevic has one in Chatham
Grant Innes has one at Toronto Island
Dave Nusca has one out of York (Hamilton area)
Don Buchan has one out of Ottawa
There is one out of London who is not connected to the group of us listed above and i am sure there are others...

Hey sounds like your not counting me! I guess I have too many numbers in my registration!

Ahhhh..... you live in both worlds and get to fly between them !! Once you change KTAN to a CXXX you are IN !

Tony, once things open up again, it would be great to have an international fly-in day, Maybe London or somewhere. Let's remember to try to do that.

Any talk with the Canadian people if flying is ok yet especially if fully vaccinated?

Peter ... Great idea. Fly into London or Kitchener. Great restaurants on both fields. Count me in.

Chuck ... good question. Ontario is in a lock down, non essential travel is verboten. So it's really about the pilot's moral compass, currency, training, maintenance flights, etc, versus "stay at home". Sadly, Transport Canada has drawn the line, General Aviation Pilots are Recreational Pilots and not air crew. Air crew are exempt from the stay at home order, as they are deemed Essential Services.

Also, we can add onto the list, the 114b at Holland Landing, and two 112's at Burlington. Sounds like 10.

Oh....dreaming about a fly-in !!! :p Can't wait to do it and we will do it......

And Phil, I think one in Burlington unless that gear-up a couple of months ago is repairable...

Tony .. the gear up in Burlington wasn't my old 112. I believe that there are 2 Commanders there. Anyways, I'm sure the local Burlington mechanic slapped a new prop, some duck-tape to clean up the bottom skin and some TSOd Rustolum spray paint for that 100 foot look. Good to Go.

Well, C-GOUH has been hiding at Burlington executive for 11 years now. I have just taken possesion and in the process of getting it back in annual. This bird will be flying out of Carp, ON - CYRP.

Daniel:

Nice to have another Commander in the Ottawa area, particularly since C-FCEO just moved from Carp, to western Canada.

Don

Good afternoon all, after several months of searching, myself and 4 partners purchased C-GSAJ a 112-TCA in July. SAJ is now based in Windsor (YQG), formerly Boundary Bay BC (ZBB). Our group ranges in experience from +-100hrs PPL to +3,000hrs APTL.

A shout out to Tony Varga (FFOM) for the assistance over the last year with a draft shareholder agreement, Mx trouble shooting, AME recommendations and partnership advice.

Cheers Tony, looking forward to meeting you and other Commander owners in person soon.

Wow, SAJ is a nice looking bird! Congrats on the partnership group!! That must have been an incredible flight getting her home....

So close to you, based at Detroit Willow RUN (KYIP) yet so far. I went to Canada last week on business. I drove to Guelph. Of course, I have both vaccines and the booster and had the high-level test done to get over the border. The next weekend I was coughing, very tired, achy ... then this past Monday my client called to advise he had COVID! I got tested and yup ... me too. I am doing OK. Just really really tired and a cough, but mild overall. I had a kidney transplant 19 years ago so I am immune-suppressed. Docs say without the vaccines and booster I could have been in real trouble. (I am age 69 but very healthy otherwise.)

Anyway, that's my gift from Canada! You guys owe me.

Scott ... so sorry to hear about you picking up COVID-19 and good to hear that it was mild. I think that this is a good reminder that it's a highly infectious disease.

awww Scott ! We owe you a case of real beer. Phil and I were chatting and saying good thing we did not hook up with you for a bite !!! You drive right past my house to go to Guelph :-|
