Finally, I am joining this group of Guys and Gals flying one of the most incredible planes for the money. I previously had a Piper Cherokee 180. Not that I didn't like the plane, But Wow! What a difference! My Friend , Mechanic and Flight instructor told me I should shy away from this plane do to the difficulty of getting parts. I did a fair amount of research and bought it anyway ( such a rebel) .
I can say that I have truly enjoyed flying this plane. The cabin room is amazing compared to similar type aircraft, and the performance is nothing to sneeze at.
Well, I am glad to be in the COG. I have spoken with several of you on FB. Thanks for your advise here and there and I look forward to a few friendships along the way. I just moved to KFSM and look forward to having my plane here as well.
Keep on flying

Welcome Kurt, be sure to share some pics of your plane!

I hear all the time about Commander mechanics saying you can't find parts for Pipers, of afford them. The great thing about an orphaned airplane is that you are not compelled to buy parts from a factory after they mark them up 700%. Welcome to the group.

Life is a barrel of fun.

Welcome Kurt. You'll find the Commander Owner's Group very helpful with everything Commander.

Kurt,

Welcome to the group!

As previously mentioned the group always enjoys pictures of your ride.

Welcome Kurt and congratulations on the best decision that you have ever made.

KFSM is a great airport - although for us transients the price of fuel at Signature is nothing short of outrageous. I fly into Fort Smith all the time since my mother and father in law live there. It is a great airport and town.

I will try to look you up next time we fly in. Probably in about two weeks.

Welcome Kurt. Joining this group is a must if you're a commander owner.

Find a good A&P (preferably AI as well) that knows the commanders. You will be glad you did.

Welcome and enjoy your new ride.

Kurt,

Welcome and congratulations!

Welcome Kurt,
Glad to see you didn't buy into the rumors. Commanders are great airplanes and no more difficult to maintain than any other aircraft. Mechanics just need to reference the maintenance manual. You will also find a wealth of knowledge here.

Hello Kurt, welcome; I believe that you may have made a bad mistake. Owning and flying a commander will expose you to unwarranted attention and endless questioning (what plane is that?). Expect demands for photos of your bird (no one asks me for my photo). Again, you could have avoided all these life interruptions, if only, you had listened to the mechanic who warned you not to purchase. I fear your life as you knew it is over now!! You will come to understand the chore of fame and attention that waits you. The worst inquires come from those Cirrus owner/operators, beware.

One more question, can I have a picture of you plane please?
