KLUL Laurel, MS - Local Knowledge?

Mary and I are heading south the end of the month to Laurel, MS. My bride and I want to get back to our get-away four day fun travels. Anybody have info or local knowledge on the airport (KLUL)? The plan is to check out the HGTV show “Home Town” and all the local shops and eateries. The plan is for the 19th to the 23rd.

Just local knowledge...places not to miss for eats, hangar space, covered tie downs, rental car or taxi, just anything that you think helps when flying to a new place. I will be calling ahead to check on hangar space while we're there.

They have a fairly nice airport @ KLUL but for covered storage, you may want to try the guys at PIB. It is about 20 minutes south of Laurel but will keep you closer to Hattiesburg where most of the good restaurants and I'd be glad to meet up with you and show you around
 
Hattiesburg is quite a nice town, we spent the night there on our way to the East Coast a while back. Lots of restaurants and lodging options.

Weather was not cooperating so we canceled. Still high on the mission list, looking in May. I’m headed into annual in two weeks.
 
Careful around Prentiss though, Lonnie's home base. It's called "Jefferson Davis County Airport." So just for fun when stopping in there to see the Steverson clan, I made all my announcements as "Prentiss -- Abraham Lincoln County Airport." When I landed there was a local militia posse out in full force to nail me. If not for Lonnie, I would not be writing this today.
