Hello COG,

We just acquired a 1973 112 that needs some love. She is a good plane with a tough history, but we are committed to bringing her back to pristine. She has been with the previous owner for 10 years and lived outside in MT. Has been a great plane with lots of use, and we are committed to keeping this going. My son is an A/P and my wife also a pilot so the plane will get some good use. if not for this group we would have maybe passed on this great plane. I have wanted one for many years but have always been talked out of them.

We have owned may single and twin engine planes so are no stranger to this world. I hope to also be a contributing member of the group.

Thanks.

Thanks all and my apologies for the grammar on the post. Typing too fast and got interrupted. Looking forward to meeting many of you soon.

As one of my friends used to say, "Don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't pet the sweaty stuff..." We're a lot more impressed by someone saving a Commander from a fate worse than death than we are by perfect spelling and grammar! Welcome to COG.

Welcome Martin and good for you for saving that 73. We're all looking forward to hearing about your updates and seeing some pictures!

Re: Just acquired a 112

Welcome Martin and good luck with your new bird. How about a few photos (before and after). You'll find that the Commander Gang is a wealth of knowledge, especially about parts.

Re: Just acquired a 112

Congratulations on your new purchase and welcome to the group. You will love your bird

Re: Just acquired a 112

Martin, congratulations and welcome! You'll love the airplane. We bought our 112A 4 years ago and love it! It may not be the fastest 4-place airplane out there, but comfort, style and handling is first rate. Part's and support have not been any more of a problem than some production Cessna and Pipers I've seen. COG members and the forum are INVALUABLE. Glad your bird found a good home.

Re: Just acquired a 112

Welcome to the group. I have a 112A myself and have traveled from Tennessee to Oregon several times and loved it.

Re: Just acquired a 112

Welcome to the group. I have a 112 (#86) based at Palomar Airport in Carlsbad and find it perfect for flying around CA & AZ. If you ever want to meet for lunch somewhere midway between our locations, let me know.
