we ( as in my 19 year old daughter and I ) love the airplane.

Hi Henry! Welcome to the group and congrats on the plane!

Exciting times for you and your family!

I’m a shared partnership owner of a 112 based in Kitchener Airport but live in Brantford very close to the field! If your ever in the area it would be great to meet up over a coffee and chat planes! I’ve never seen a 114 other than pictures!

I’ll put Sarnia on my list to fly to this year!

Stay safe (and warm with this winter weather!)

All the best Rod and the rest of the Commander Group in CYKF!

Re: introduction

Hi Henry,

Welcome and congratulations on the new bird. We keep our 114 at Toronto Buttonville airport (CYKZ). They are great aircraft and with the Commander Forum, a wealth of knowledge. When you do your dual and solo cross countries, why not stop in at Buttonville for coffee. There's even a crew car if you want to go out of lunch. A great destination with the family.

I live pretty close to the airport (CYKZ), so if you're planning a trip to Toronto let me know and we can meet up for coffee.

Enjoy the new Commander. If you need any help with the nuances of the bird, feel free to message me.

Re: introduction

Not sure if you have an engine heater installed or not. I have to think that it gets pretty cold in Sarnia. Check out the latest thread about heaters. Search heater.

Re: introduction

the plane is parked in a non heated hanger, its got a heater, and a cowl blanked, so we can warm up the engine before start up.
i will check out the threat about heaters .

thanks
