Info on IO-540 STC

[112WJJ]

We own a 1974 112 with IO-360 3 blade prop upgrade done. I found there was an STC fro the 540 but when contacting the owner of the STC they informed me they never completed the STC. Does anyone know what engine upgrade is avail? We had a prop strike and want to upgrade immediately.

I expect your 540 STC was Machen, who did a few many years ago and no longer have any interest? I don't think you'll get an IO-540 option.

Hello Rod. My understanding is that while a few conversions were done Machen declined to do more for whatever reason.

You've got a couple of options for 112 engines in addition to the 'standard' IO360; Aerodyme has an IO-390 drop-in and RCM Normalizing has a turbo-nomalizer STC available. Links to both are in on Marketplace page on the main website.
