Mine just expired and they wanted $150 to renew it (I think it was $15 when I first got it.)
Needless to say I passed - never been asked for it.

Scott give me a call about this, of course with Roberto you're in expert hands.
I have been to Monterrey the airline airport in 114PW,it was the 1st stop in our Mayan cities Exploration from the air and ground adventure. The airport was big and busy like going into Indianapolis (IND) but no problems we had all our paperwork ready they were professional and we were done in 1/2 hour the slightly longer than the time it took us to taxi with holding for 737s on taxiways etc. No problem with ATC and their English usage too. All in all Neil, his wife and my trip to Mexico (all over the Yucatan in and out of at least 10 airports over 3 weeks was wonderful - people, country, scenery, history all were well worth it). Stayed in Monterrey for 3 days and then on to Vera Cruz.

On the return we came through Brownsville, TX not the best choice perhaps use a bigger airport further from the border where Immigratioon & Customs are politer & more professional to deal with. Perhaps San Antonio or Austin where David Loose & Mary-Beth can be counted on for a good veggie dinner.

By the way monterrey Mexico's Univ now has an Aeronautical Engineering program and the 1st batch of students are going through. I met a young women from there in OSH 2011 and she was smart. I invited her to attend the Personal Aircraft Design Academy meeting with and there wags like you remarked "isn't she a bit young for you?".
I replied "isn't plastic surgery wonderful she's 50!"
The guy actually believed that and chatted briefly with her as if she were 50ish, they should revoke his Pilot's licence or at least the IFR rating!

The only thing I would add is that it is a good idea to use a local FBO that will take care of your plane and help with paperwork and DO NOT plan on driving yourself around!

OK, you're close, but not all there... I expect your FCC operators permit is also required, so hold on to it. It doesn't expire; mine is dated 1969.

But I was referring to the FCC Aircraft Radio Station License; different. It is an aircraft document. Not positive about the details but do some research. I will too and will post if I find some real information...
