Home safe

Mary and I bugged out around 4:30 and arrived safely at home in OCMD at 3:30. An 11 hour ground pound, sure missed having a chance to fly.

Both my bride and I had fun! Great meeting new people and putting faces to the screen names. We both look forward to meeting up in Florida this winter with a few members. Chris and Lana thanks for being so welcoming, much appreciated.

Shout out to Bill for putting together a wonderful event. (y)

one hour and ten minutes and I was home, then the daily chores began. It was a great meeting and as usual I did learn a lot. Thanks to all that did the work putting this together. I know it is a lot of work.

Life is a barrel of fun.

2 hours 15 minutes home to Kissimmee FL, nice tailwind and Bulldog MOA inactive made a nice direct route, great seeing old friends and meeting new ones...see everyone next year!

Finally home today. Just in time since our local wx is going down the tubes with convective stuff starting tonight. Suffered a seized starter armature trying to depart Sunday morning. Seven hour roundtrip drive between Augusta and Atlanta to retrieve a replacement from Spruce on Monday. Man, do I hate driving around Atlanta…

Great maintenance crew at Augusta Aviation. Bit of a job getting to starter to replace it since it is snuggled behind the dual alternator idler pulley bracket. At least, had a opportunity to inspect and verify both alternator belts are in good shape. Airplanes, while wonderful time machines, are always an adventure.

Fun getting to see everyone at the fly-in. Hope to see more at the next get together. The committee is working on possibilities/suggestions for next year’s venue. We are looking for a spot central US like MO, AR, etc. Recommendations?

Had a great time, once again. We appreciate all of the behind the scenes ground work that goes into these events.
Made it home in about 5 hours, quick fuel stop in Lexington. 2 hours of IMC, and dodging convective stuff.
Thanks again to all, my dad and I had a great time.

Glad to hear that you got it fixed, even if you did have to drive to Atlanta :( I felt bad taxing out with y'all stuck on the ramp. Lana and I really enjoyed seeing y'all.

Glad you are home safe. Driving north was bad enough but driving in Atlanta had to really stink.
