I did notice no mention of the Commander Lark and the Commander Dart that was produced in Albany Ga. before the 111 and 112 were produced. I remember it so well as I rented a Commander Lark from Commander air service at the airport. Brand new with only three hours on the hobbs. After being checked out I departed Special VFR and was up in the cloud when the instrument panel caught fire. The thought was that we had no radar at Albany airport, I declared an emergency and was immediately given radar vectors all the way to the ground, We had a Naval Air Station about 15 miles away, they were giving me reverse PAR vectors as I was lined up with their runway. Amazing and all ended well, the smoke was still being produced after landing. The fire trucks ended up destroying the plane so I never flew it again...
Life is a barrel of fun.
