Hello and help please

Hi,
I have been tasked by a friend who owns a Commander 112A Serial no. 407 to help him as he is too busy to this himself.
Essentially, following a strip out of the aircraft for a complete interior refurbishment, he (someone) has lost the official signed Pilot's Operating Handbook for the aircraft. Incidentally, he has also lost the Airworthiness Certificate, the Radio Licence and the W&B. I can deal with the last three.
Can anyone on this forum advise me how I get a replacement POH for this aircraft which I would then, presumably, have to get signed off by an FAA DAR.
Thanks.
John

Re: Hello and help please

I notice that the hard copy sold by pilotmall.com says that the Airplane Filght Manual they have is "NOT a FAA-approved replacement for your aircraft's POH". Is that also true of the one downloadable from the COG web site?
I assumed that once I had a copy of the POH I would then need an FAA DAR or Inspector to sign it off as THE POH for (my) particular aircraft.

I may be answering my own question here. I read somewhere that prior to 1978 the FAA did not prescribe Approved POHs and that perhaps in this case (a 1975 112A) the AFM is sufficient and does not have to be signed off by the FAA. Is that right?

This is my understanding, too.

Re: Hello and help please

In Canada, the main POH document is generic, however, it is required to have the "Approved Supplements" for all equipment installed in the aircraft. I believe that is the same in the US?

This would mainly be avionics, engine monitors, and, or course, the autopilot.

Re: Hello and help please

Current FAA approved flight manual is not required in light airplanes (6000lbs or less) manufactured before March 1, 1979 (to be exact). I just came across this in my King Commercial Ground School.:)
