guest house?

Re: guest house?

I could live there :)

Re: guest house?

Some of these places are actually here in Costa Rica, right in Manuel Antonio, really beatiful national park and beaches, nice landing field and everything.

Re: guest house?

I noticed it was in Costa Rica ... that may make a great Commander fly-in.

Re: guest house?

well...it will be nice to have you guys here, the airport to use for international entry would most likely be MRPV, another option is MRLB and those resorts are at MRQP, the biggest challenge of flying down here would be Mexico because of their insurance requirements.

Now...I would really suggest avoiding January and February because of the high winds we see here, and then September and October because there is just too much rain.

Best months are April to June.

Re: guest house?

Hey, I might get interested in that!
How about a 2 week vacation run down to Panama and back? Any interest in a group flight?
Sort of the opposite of the Alaska trip.
April would be nice.

Re: guest house?

Sounds like a great idea to me,

I have been considering opening up a special event company in Costa Rica, kill two birds with one stone.

Life is a barrel of fun

Re: guest house?

that's cool, let me know if you are flying down this way and what would you be interested in seeing to start thinking in some sort of "agenda"

Panama is a beautiful country too with some interesting business oportunities.

regards,

Re: guest house?

Roberto,

Last time I was in Panama I was working on a Norwegian frieghter as a Meshaguit (dishwasher)

We went through the canal, a great experience as I looked out of the the galley window.

That was in 1966 and I have not been back since.

I am ready for the trip.

Life is a barrel of fun.

Re: guest house?

I have about a dozen or so trips through the canal as a navigator on various commercial ships as well as two big salvage contracts, one at each end of the canal. Spent quite a bit of time in Central America, I particularly like Guatamala. Never been to Costa Rica for some reason.

I think a trip down through Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Guatamala Costa Rica and Panama would be fun. I could skip Nicaragua and El Salvador unless someone persuades me otherwise.

I flew into Guatamala City on Continental at night once where the nearby volcano was acive and firing lava into the air. Great view from a window seat. Was like fireworks! We were on the upwind side so no ash risk.

Re: guest house?

I flew to Belize. That proved to be an interesting few days.

Re: guest house?

In Central America I would say nice to visit are Guatemala, then the Bay Islands of Honduras and then I will just jump to Costa Rica and Panama, Salvador and Nicaragua, and the rest of Honduras for that matter, do not add a lot of value to put it nicelly...Unless you are doing a very long trip, I mean, 2 weeks or more, I would suggest concentrating in Panama and Costa Rica ... now of course, it depends on what are your interests, because if your interest is in precolombinan visits, then Guatemala and Honduras are your focus.
