Grand Island, NE (KGRI) This weekend - anyone near?

I will be in Grand Island, NE Friday through Sunday morning. If anyone is nearby and wants to meet up. I should have time on Friday before about 2:00 or Saturday after 3:00.

Just thought I'd throw this out - in case anyone else is dreaming of flying into central NE for some reason

I got a swell balck T-shirt there from the FBO that has a buffalo with wings embroidered on it, not silk-screened. STill have it. Really nice people, but that was 6 or 8 years ago anyway. Taxiing in I asked the tower if they could recommend a place for lunch. Tower guy says, "I am going to lunch in 5 minutes, wanna go with me? Good buffet about 3 miles away." And so we did. Interesting guy. He drove so I bought his lunch!

I recall leaving it was just beautiful and winds were terrible even at 3,000 AGL, so I flew about 90% of the way to Denver at about 100'. That made it a lot more interesting. Surprised a few guys on tractors. So flat and so few building that cell towers and powerlines are easy to see way in advance. Good memories.

That would be awesome - lunch with the tower! I need to get to meet my guys in my local tower - they are great.

I filed for 11.5 heading over there - so it should be very scenic - last weekend flying back from Yellowstone - 11.5 was slightly over the peaks - so I had the low level feeling there

The FBO now has a new building - so don't know if they will still have t-shirts - will see.

Would love to but in Oshkosh this week. We'll have to get together next time. You're only alittle over an hour from me.

Hopefully another time - I am always looking for places to fly into KS - so maybe we can go take a Garmin tour or something.
