A couple of flights in last couple of weeks.

Trip one, or should I say mission, a flight to KMSV Sullivan county in Monticello NY. I helped my friend and ramp neighbor retrieve his fuel tank for his Warrior that was repaired. From there we headed to Allentown KABE to take on fuel and drive his tank over to Braden. I did see a Commander take off from ABE, but I’m not sure who it was.

Trip two, was a fun flight to KHGR-Hagerstown MD with my bride to meet up with the Beech Aero Club group for lunch. Plenty of ATC and an easy peasy route change.

Mary and I are really starting to enjoy our Commander. We are looking forward to getting back to traveling and exploring.

I am based at KABE. Hangar on the north side by the fire station.
I wasn't flying on 10/10.

I wont go into Braden on a good day. Yes the numbers say its fine - but its no margin for error - as in none. Everything had better go right.
There is a Seneca that operates out of there. It has been seen to rotate at/near the threshold markings ..

Its a 15 minute drive. Good decision.

Nice blogs and videos. So Gary, are you able to turn your oil sump heaters on remotely and if so what mechanism do you use?

My thoughts exactly! I’ll be back to ABE when my friends plane is completed. Hope to try and catch up.

Thanks!

I'm using a switchbox, easy peasy, plug and play. I text the unit when I know I’m flying and it’s warm in the morning.

I may have to make a foam wedge for the nose gear doors to keep the heat in. I’ll see how the temps do as I use the system. When I had the Reiff on my Sundowner it was perfect. Unfortunately I didn’t get to use it on my Debonair.

Mozzam, every fly into Jake Arner 2N, Lehighton? My daughter-in-law grew up there and her house (parents still there) is about 1/2 mile from the airport, so I have flown in a few times. They is a stone-cold-cool Twin Navion sitting on the back corner of the ramp, just fading away. I would absolutely love to buy it and restore it. Wonder if you ever saw it.

Never been in there. Its about 30 mins west from my house
Now i have something to do on a rainy day.
