Long range wx forecast for S. Indiana during the fly-in is EXCELLENT at this point. Fingers crossed. Certainly no ice concerns like Boyne. ;-)

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

I saw alot of ice in Boyne...... but most of it was in my drinks.....:)

Pink ones if memory serves! :p

Late breaking news.... The train ride on Friday is going to be scrubbed and deposits refunded due to insufficient interest. (we had 12 or so reservations) We are evaluating the possibility of still using the bar car in the station (no subsequent ride) for a cocktail/light appetizers reception. How many of those planning to reach FL before Friday evening would be interested in participating? Might be a few bucks a head for food but de minimis expenses. Perhaps something in the 1800-1930 range? Give the afternoon arrivals a chance to hose off the trail dust...

Looking for body counts here. Name and number attending will suffice.

Count me in for one, Bill.

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

Mary Beth and I will join...

Rather than make this more complicated, how about a poolside reception at the FL resort on Friday with adjacent bar for beverages and light food? Wait staff fully equipped to deliver umbrella drinks poolside.

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

Ahhh, a real shame about the train, I was looking forward to seeing Lonnie in his Choo Choo Charlie garb and shouting Wooooo Hooooo!

Anyway, we're in for whatever the replacement activities.

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

ANNOUNCEMENT - Friday Reception

This info will also be provided when you arrive @ FRH or the hotels.

COG will be hosting a fly-in participant reception on the French Lick Upper Garden Patio from 6:00p - 7:30p on Friday 9/14. Overlooks the French Lick gardens and the famous Pluto Water Spring and gazebo. Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres provided and a cash bar available (charge to rooms no problem). For post reception dining, two restaurants are adjacent to patio area. For casual dining, the Power Plant Bar & Grill is below and behind the upper patio. For more upscale dining, the 1875 Room is above the patio. Reservations are strongly suggested for 1875. Both will be discussed more after your arrival. Patio will be a "private party" relative to the hotel guests so bring your credentials ( received upon arrival) to avoid being dribbled across the patio by the burly bouncers and unceremonially tossed into the Spring. ;-)

Gonna be fun. See y'all there.

It is with great sadness that sue and i have to cancle the french lick fly in. Cicumstances with my health are such that it would be practicaly impossible for me to participate in the activities. We will miiss all you coggers who have all been so special to us.
Remember " keep the blue side up"

blaine and sue loudin

I'm so bummed to hear this Blaine. Can the two of you come up and at least join us for dinner or visit on the ramp with us on Saturday? We even have an airport golf cart secured just for you and Sue.

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

Say it ain't so, Blaine. Our best to you and Sue. We will be thinking about you and you can be sure you will be with us in spirit. Here's hoping next year will find you able to be with us in person.

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

Very sorry to hear that Blaine but we will be thinking of you!

Update on the OWB Moonlight BBQ fly out slated for Thursday. COG member Michael Boyd has offered to coordinate in OWB for an early evening arrival. We will need a tentative head count on Wed evening and an updated head count by mid-afternoon so Michael may arrange shuttle transportation from OWB to Moonlight. Tentative plan is for attendees to arrive at OWB in the 5:00-5:30p range and it is not a great distance from FRH. More updates from FRH. Heading there tomorrow.
