French Lick for seminars, dinner and closer-in activities w/Casino right next door. W. Baden Springs still close-by, a bit more refined w/fancier spa, as I understand it. both hv good restaurants and bars.

Bars, bars what's that????

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

AS I recall, Baden Springs has about 1/2 the rooms (around 200+?) vs French Lick (400+?) so it is a bit more intimate. W Baden has the famous "8th Wonder of the World" Dome (we all know it is no more than the 23rd or 24th wonder of the world, except that those of us who grew up in Southern Indiana are in complete wonder how this thing ever got buillt and paid for there in the late 1800's.) French Lick also has more kids running around, typically. Obviously, they did not check out the COG reputation very well or we'd never been offered the opportunity to book at W Baden Springs. Of course, As it was, French Lick was the only option they offered me.

As of two days ago the WB:FL ratio was appx 60:40 but not a significant difference. As stated, WB is a bit more intimate and French Lick will appeal a bit more to families with younger children or those that plan to spend a good bit of time at the casino. Both have spas and multiple restaurants/bars. They are only a few minutes apart (appx a mile) and the shuttles run every 15 minutes. Guests ride bike surreys and walk between them all day long. Suggest you look at rooms and features of both and pick the one you will enjoy the most. They are both wonderful places.

GOLF anyone interested in the Thurs AM golf outing please post here or email me at pete@clarktraining.com. We need to know how many so we can schedule tee times, the more the merry. If we 20 golfers we get a price break. Head down, slow in the back swing.

I suck at this sport as much as I did last year, but I am in.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I needed an alternative for Thursday in order to protect myself from certain gastronomic distress if I had attended the Kentucky BBQ event. I'm in, but I haven't picked up a club since last year's outing so you can put me on Radu's team.

I'm in Pete. Perhaps I should play w/ BH and Dani this year so I may keep his wing tips out of the rough...

On that particular subject,... Strongly recommend playing one of the UK (Kentucky) courses on the weekends when they bring over worthy UK coeds to staff the beverage buggies. Usually 2 per 9 hole side. Far too young for moi but a truly entertaining experience. ;-)

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

Had that experience in Vegas with UNLV coeds once. Holy Moly ... never forget those two. 10+++++ and lots of fun. Yes, we tipped them well. And KY girls would be even better!

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

Petey, put me down for golf as well. Do they have clubs?

I didn't notice ite poll was multiple choice but I'm in for all of them. They sound great! Since we are playing golf on Thursday morning and may not make lunch, what are the chances of making Owensburg a dinner affair?

Re: French Lick 2012 Fly-In Options

agreed. KOWB should be dinner. Then they have about 85 things BBQ'd instead of just 60!
