Hi All,

As part of finishing up the IO-390 certification, I need to borrow a 112 for a few days to do an exhaust noise comparison. Basically, I need to take back-to-back sound level measurements of the standard exhaust compared to my new design.

I would like to do this in Burlington (KBTV). If anyone is interested in flying up for an overnight in Vermont, let me know. I'd be glad to return the favor by taking care of something you want done on the airplane, within reason, at no charge.

Any interest?

Thanks,
Jim

PS: It needs to be a 112 with the stock two-blade prop and healthy enough to run-up to 2700 RPM. This testing is done on the ground, on a large clean ramp.

Re: Free Work on your 112?

I'd gladly oblige but will be out of town thru mid-August. If you still need a 112 then, I'll certainly help.

Re: Free Work on your 112?

I'd help you out Jim but I have the top prop

Re: Free Work on your 112?

Same here Jim. I'd help you out but I've also got the 3-blade.

Re: Free Work on your 112?

Jim,
My 112 has a two blade prop and will be available within the next two weeks. Let me know what you want to do.

Re: Free Work on your 112?

Hi Brian,

Thanks very much for volunteering.

Can you find a clean ramp and do a full static ground run-up for me? Just like your regular run-up but go full forward on the mixture, prop, and throttle and let me know what she settles on for max RPM.

I am waiting on another set of new mufflers from Knisley, probably will have here by June 5, and then would be ready to do the test any time.

Re: Free Work on your 112?

Jim, you can count on my plane also, just let me know. It's going in the shop next week for a little work, it should be out of there before the week ends. The only drawback would be that I don't have the time to fly during the week, so I will have to convince someone to fly up there together during a weekend and then bum a ride back home. Another alternative would be for you to come down and pick up 9J and do whatever you'd like with it, anytime you want. Let me know.

Re: Free Work on your 112?

Jim, I won't be able to do the static run-up until next weekend. I'm up in Plattsburgh this weekend for my daughter's wedding. If that okay with you, I will let you know what the RPM settles at.

Re: Free Work on your 112?

Hi,

Brian, that's fine, just let me know.
And thanks Radu for your offer.

Re: Free Work on your 112?

I can give any bum needing a ride home if need be.
