Costa Rica to 1WA6 (WA) July

Re: Costa Rica to 1WA6 (WA) July

Gonzalo:

Sadly, I missed this entire posting until now (09 July 18). My name is Rik and I'm the guy that lives 8 months in Tamarindo and 4 months on the Central Coast of California.

First off, as my Friends in Australia say "Good-on-ya-Mate" - I'm really glad to hear of your Flight and your sense of adventure !!! When I bought N114SE last year, my original intention was to take her back and forth between Costa Rica and California. However, after being in Tamarindo and looking into my realistic options, there are no hangers in and around Tamarindo, so I've chosen not to subject N114SE to the harsh tropical environment (yep, bought a dehydrator for when she's parked in the hanger in California during my time away).

It sounds to me like you're in Washington presently - in the event you're returning to CR via California, I'd like to invite to stay at my place in the Central Coast. Although N114SE is based in KSMX, the nearest airport to my place here is KSBP. Since I don't know your intended return route, I'll just mention that the Washington and Oregon coastlines are spectacular and flying by the Golden Gate in San Francisco is a site to see.

If you're interested in the above offer, P/M me and we can discuss the details. Either way, I wish you the best on your Holiday and if we don't see in California this time around, I hope to see you in Costa Rica.

Be Well, Fly Safe,
Rik

Great that you made it. Should be a lot to see and do around Seattle. Maybe you can meet up with a nearby COG member, just to say hello if nothing else.

Have a great time.

Thank you Joe!!

If I could escape, I’d have you pick me up on the way back! I’d love to learn to fly in Central America confidently.

Pura vida, mae!

David, you have to dare and go down there in your bird!,

Para vida mae!!

Gonzalo,
That is some cross country flight in your 114, tops any distance we have flown in our Commander. Make sure to ride the ferries so you can checkout the San Juan islands or Victoria.
Have fun and stay safe.
Bob

Thank you Bob!! We will fly the islands tomorrow. Today to Tieton field, very nice places to fly!,
