Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

Thank you for outlining the Friday schedule Pat.

Also, I'm in Tim's camp regarding the beverage issue - seminar bar!

See you in September,

Pete

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

And I've talked to a number of member that are at a distance or have tight schedules that week and are concerned about maybe not being able to make it. My advice? Just jump on a commercial flight into DAY and enjoy the events. There will be plenty of empty seats for the various fly-outs so you can get some flying in and get to know another Commander owner better.

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

I know 8:00 is early for some. There are a number of seminars and topics being offered with the goal of providing variety for the members to choose from. While I’d like to have 100% participation, it is not expected for each seminar.
The seminars are grouped by topic. The Friday morning sessions will cover maintenance of the plane. Friday afternoon is devoted to avionics and potential improvements in that area. Late Friday afternoon, John McNeely from General Aviation will give a more general presentation that will cover the history of the Commanders and the future of needed parts.
The hotel and meeting room were picked for many reasons. Some are obvious now (price and location). The other reason is the facilities that are available to us. The meeting room is next to the restaurant and the bar. Both food and drinks are allowed in the meeting room. In fact, the Welcome Party will also be in the meeting room with a temporary bar setup.
We will have coffee and rolls for the morning crowd. And for those interested, your breakfast can be brought into the meeting room to save time.
Saturday’s seminars are more hands on with an actual plane. There will be more distractions with the normal airport activities and the expectation that many in the group will be flying. Because of these considerations along with the travel time from the hotel, these seminars must start later. To get the maximum out of these seminars, hands-on attendance is necessary. They will, however, be videoed to extend the knowledge to others.
Back to the Friday morning seminars. They will cover important topics for the owner involved in the details of plane maintenance including airworthiness, performance improvement and fabrication of parts not in production. The seminars are designed to present the topic and issues and then spend about half the time answering questions. For those who cannot attend, the speakers will be available to answer specific questions later in the Fly In. I hope the members who are interested can make the seminars.

Absolutely concur. Biff job Pat!

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

Hi Pat, noticed that seminars will be videoed. Would it be possible to put the video onto USB stick? I am sure we would have some purchasers over here.

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

Of course
We plan to make them available on the web

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

Pat,

Thanks for all the work you're putting into this. I'm pretty stoked about all of it. Was thinking I might want to do some of the fly-out things, but the programs sound pretty great... Guess I'll have some tough decisions to make!

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

Fantastic job Pat, I am excited to attend.

My board of directors will be impressed when I show it to them next week. some folks think that we meet just to party.

Life is a barrel of fun.

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

Hi Pat and All,

The Fri 8AM session will be on "current fleet airworthiness topics". Like in TX last year, I'll review the safety issues that have made the "radar" over the past year, and status of available solutions.

Thanks,
Jim

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

Thanks Jim
I will make the changes in the schedule

Re: Commander Fly IN 2014 Seminars

Thanks Pat. Schedule sounds great and thanks for putting all the work into putting it together. I'm hoping to make and will attend everything I can.
