I’d pleased to announce that the Commander Owners Group is launching our own webinar series!
The first webinar presentation is scheduled for next Sunday evening, March 14. Here are the details:
Commander Aero Engineering Insights
or Fly efficiently using engineering versus Scott's de-bugging fluids
Presenter, Sid Siddiqi COG member (N114PW) and Aeronautical Engineer
Sunday March 14 @ 8:30p ET
1-2 hours prior to the event an email will be sent out to all members with an invitation link. All you need to attend the webinar is a working web browser and speakers on your computer. Questions will be handled by simply typing to the presenter.

The board made the decision to launch a webinar series based upon feedback from our many members over this past year who were looking for additional opportunities (beyond the annual fly-in) for our community to interact. This should be a great way for us to virtually meet and discuss Commander topics of all types. Presently, the plan is for the COG to present one webinar a month. Webinar topics could include maintenance issues, travel, performance, financing, refurbishment, new avionics options, how-to's, etc. We will be looking for volunteers from the members, so be ready!
This first presentation is intended to be an evaluation of the webinar system we’ve deployed and we’ll be following up with a survey here. So please be patient should you encounter any glitches.

Special thanks to our webmaster, Radu Rotaru (N1239J) who set up our webinar system and Sid Siddiqi who volunteered to be the first presenter.

I hope everyone can attend and I’m looking forward to both the presentation and also to everyone’s feedback.

Great idea Glenn! Thanks to everyone for this. Even Sid. :p

Re: COG Webinar Series!

 Is it being recorded? I'm headed up to the hills for a 3 night mini vacation w/ the kids for their Spring Break....

Needs to be...

Re: COG Webinar Series!

Take the laptop!!! :)

See you on Sunday

Re: COG Webinar Series!

This place is SERIOUSLY out in the boonies... cell phone doesn't even work there!

Re: COG Webinar Series!

Daylight savings kicks in this Saturday Night so 8:30 will be 5:30 here. Not likely to be available.

Re: COG Webinar Series!

Wow - I totally would have missed that (Daylight Savings Time)

Thanks Joel

Re: COG Webinar Series!

We'll see about recording possibilities.

Re: COG Webinar Series!

I'm thinking of inviting a non-commander person.

One of my students with a great interest in flying (loves Navions)

I'd like to show him our group just from a flying, ownership, and great friendship perspective.

Will a guest be able to log in to the webinar?

Re: COG Webinar Series!

Dave, right now it's paying COG members only. Membership does have some privileges :)

Not sure yet of how/where we'll post recordings and if those will be accessible to non-members.

Re: COG Webinar Series!

thats cool I cant wait.

Re: COG Webinar Series!

Should be fun. There are lots of topics that should be great to present this way.

Re: COG Webinar Series!

Hey Glenn & Radu I forgot to ask - as the presenter and discussion initiator do I have to be professional and wear a suit and tie or can I just pilot dress in my flying jacket?

Sid, having seen you wandering about the pre-dawn hours at OshKosh...I would submit more clothes are better. :p

Re: COG Webinar Series!

I would really like to see this!

No dresses, Sid!! That would be just wrong!!!:D

Re: COG Webinar Series!

8:30pm ET?

Well that's Europe out, 02:30am here. Please remember that many of those who can't come to the COG don't live in the USA and this type of thing would be quite useful to us.

Re: COG Webinar Series!

But Lawrence, would you stay up 'till 02:30 am to see Sid in a dress?

That's typical television in the UK at that time...

Right then!

Re: COG Webinar Series!

We haven't forgotten our members in Europe or points west such as Australia. A common time that works globally is tough but in addition to making recordings of these seminars available we're also thinking about more regional presentations.
