Re: can you see the Commander?
I had an interesting experience today, which many of you may be able to relate to.
I flew to a local airport for breakfast and parked my Commander in an area set up for the public to view aircraft on display. (Note: In California, and other states I'm sure, there is a provision for owners of "Historical Aircraft" (defined as 35 yrs old or more) to obtain a waiver of annual property taxes if the aircraft have been placed on public display twelve times during the year).
There I was, enjoying breakfast with friends on the restaurant patio, which faces the aircraft display. There were the typical Pipers, Cessnas, home-builts, war birds, etc., on display.
Now what caught my attention, was a few couples with cameras, who appeared to be enamored with the Commander. They gathered together and posed in front of it while their photos were taken. I watched as they walked among the other aircraft on display, and it appeared that they weren't as suitably impressed as there were no other photos taken.
This of course has been my observation over the years, that the Commander appears to draw attention due to it's unique design and stance among other singles.
Are we fortunate, or what? We own and fly airplanes that are distinguishable among others.
Makes a Commander owner smile

, doesn't it?
