Nice post and should be a very interesting life story about him as one of the best if not the best pilots in the world, and I always enjoyed the story of him getting shot down during WW-II and stealing a German plane to escape and landed it in some neutral country overseas, as he didn't want to fly into our allies with a German plane and get shot down by them was great escape story by him.

I visited with Bob H. (H. Dr. from the AF Flight Test Center at Edwards) at the Aviators Club on Saturday at OSH , he is truly amazing . Look for his Bio "Forever Flying" his story in his own words , can`t wait for the movie .

I was lucky enough to make it to the premier last night in Providence.
It was an excellent documentary, some of the footage is amazing to watch.
He tells the story of stealing the German plane after escaping the POW camp.
Some of his interviews will make you laugh and smile. The director was also there for a Q & A session after the showing. She says they have many hours of interview tapes, and has talked to Bob about a future project to use them.

Everytime I fly high (in the teens) I think of Bob Hoover, and all the things I would never do. Talk about 'Chutspah', no one did it better, or for as long.

A true living legend. Nothing you all don't know, but I gotta say. Agree with Lonnie 'Gonna be Awesome', and we can again be 'Awestruck'.

I don't recall much publicity about B.H. at Oshkosh. Maybe I was just preoccupied with the Grounds Toxic poisoning affecting Camellia. Scott-you never mentioned anything Friday at your 'Grill' event.

Lots of pilots stockings will be filled with this DVD for xmas this year ! Mine included. Can't wait to see it......
