After being down for 2.5 months, I was able to put the 114 back into service on the mission I bought it for, to wit, transporting my daughter back and forth to her school in Rabun Gap, GA. I convert a 9 hour drive (one way) into a 2:20 flight. Launched for home at 6:00 PM from Toccoa and selected 5000 feet for its forecast 27 knot tailwinds. OAT was initially all of 10 degrees F. I saw a groundspeed of 180 kts for quite a while (my 114 makes only 147 true on its own). Nature gave me a Super Commander that night.
I did discover another glitch from the annual: Use of the strobes cause my "Beacon/Strobe" switch to flip like a circuit breaker (this after my mechanic "fixed" the tail strobe which was out).
Regardless, the joy of 114 ownership is back.
