Hello all, i am in southern MI and looking to sell my warrior and move up to a commander...probably a 112 but not positive just yet..we shall see what the budget can handle after I move the Warrior.

Just wanted to say hi...

Also, where can I ask general questions, most of the sub forums dont really match some of the questions I have?

Thanks again..

A formal welcome Kevin.

Let me suggest posting general questions in the 'Commander ORG Supporters' conference. Ownership and operating questions in Maintenance Issues, Refurbishment, Insurance & Finance, or Upgrading Airframe/Avionics. And buying questions in 'Aircraft Sales & Marketing for Members'.

And if you haven't already found it, check out our official FAQ (Click on the 'Articles' link at the top of any page).

Welcome Kevin!

Kevin,

Welcome to the group. You can find out a lot about all things Commanders here. We are probably a bit bias but, we have the best single around... LOL... just kinda kidding. This is an amazing group that has a lot of knowledge plus we actively support each other. This forum was an awesome resource for me when I was searching for a plane and needing to research.

When you get it nailed down.. to a Commander... you may want to talk to Judi Anderson (Sun Coast Aviation) - she is a wealth of knowledge about the fleet. She has a personal file on almost all of our birds and has tracked them and followed them over the years. She can be helpful (she was to me and others) in your quest.

Good luck - and welcome

Dean

Welcome Kevin,

Where in southern Michigan are you? I'm north of Detroit flying out of Romeo and am also in the market for a 112.

Good luck shopping,
Dennis

Hello Kevin, originally from the U.P. myself, get to some part of MI fairly often. Most recently it’s been to Sawyer by Marquette, a sister lives there. I’m also overdue for another Mackinac Island visit. I’m a bit SW of MKE now.

Welcome Kevin. I used to have a warrior... and once you go two doors, you never go back!!! 112 was an easy transition for me and I am sure it will be the same to you. It's an awesome upgrade.

Dennis, I fly out of Detroit Willow Run, have flown the Commander for 20 years this month, 3500 hours. Happy to answer questions or give either or both of you a ride an let you fly the bird. email me to scott@truen.com to text to 248.390.0773. Sorry I did not see this earlier but I have not been on the boards so much since COVID. That may not make any sense but some of you will understand.

I meant Kevin and Dennis! Either ... both. The system used to let you edit posts but I cannot find that any longer.

I am also brand new here. Commander 114 - N4981W (KDWH). I may be looking to sell this unless there is a way to get an STC for adding a Turbo? Looking forward to learning from y'all. Clayton

Clayton, welcome aboard! Carl Lee holds the STC for adding a turbo normalizer, turning a 114 into a 114 Hot Shot. You'll find lots of info on the forum about the "Hot Shot" with a search. Carl posted back in March 2021 that no 114HS kits were available then - maybe he can be swayed.....

I never heard from either of you new SE MI guys. Still happy to give you a ride, let you fly, answer questions. Have either of you purchased?

Scott, Sorry I haven't responded to your offer. Shortly after the offer I made an offer on a Piper Arrow and after a couple of bumpy months working through some issues closed the deal at the end of April. Since then it's been transition training and you know how time gets away from you. I'm still interested in the 114 as my next step up but I'd like to settle in with the Arrow before I explore other birds. I'll still be checking in on this site and reach out to you when I'm ready.

Thanks, Dennis
