Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Well, the end of another great cookout on a beautiful day. John, Todd, Mike it was great seeing you guys. We had a lot of people and all kinds of planes. Estimates indicate about 80-90 people and about 35 aircraft (not all at one time). Even had a couple of war birds and an Air National Guard show helicopter up. Those guys can smell free food 100 miles away.. :). Twila and I loved watching people get together, meet new friends, talking about there experiences and future trips. Hope it is as good next year as it was this year.

Pictures to follow..

Hi Mike.

I was really hoping to get down there. Weather was not good here all weekend.

Yeap we missed you Jason, we were looking forward to meeting you. John, Mike, Lonnie Steverson and myself were Commanders that were there. Great turnout of all types of planes, had two Yak's flying some smoke formation (Cool)

Fully understand. I would do the same thing. Really wanted to see your plane though. :)

Hopefully Dean will be around next year. We had talked about practicing some formation flying together. Dean being an x fighter pilot has done it many times. I have a couple times with an experienced pilot in the right seat. It would be nice to see a formation of commanders at the next cookout. :)

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Michael, I have been off the sight for some time, and now I'm back. I'm at KFYE and not far from you. I wish I could have come over your way for the cookout. My Commander is currently down for a engine overhaul and working on everything firewall forward. When my Commander is complete...I'd love to learn some formation flying!

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Couple shots of Cmdrs in formation on the way to the cookout.

3rd plane (not shown) was a Piper Archer.

Todd in 295TC closing in on the starboard side.

Todd and John loosely forming up on the Archer.

Beautiful day to fly.

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Classic,

Todd and I whipped around and parked side by side right in front of the FBO like we'd done it once or twice before. Just deplaned when this tall fellow with a rodeo buckle ;) approached Todd and commented on the two AC11's then asked if they were Piper products. Hairs on Todd's neck stood straight up  and he immediately informed "Lonnie" that they weren't Pipers . . . .
Had to been there . . . ha ha.:)

Yeah first time I had ever laid eyes on Lonnie, needless to say I got offended at first and had to quickly correct him, NO THESE ARE COMMANDERS, of course he laughs and gives the Ole' "I'm Lonnie Steverson"...that was A FUN DAY.

Mike and his wife Twila are awesome Southern Host.
