Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

OK guys/gals, time has come to schedule my annual cookout at "KSNH" Savannah Harden Co. Airport. It's exciting to see that each year it seems to get bigger and bigger and people from all over are coming in to have a nice meal. I think we had 9 Commanders last year dominating the ramp last year. This year Montel (FBO Manager) said we could move over to the hanger that has a full kitchen so we would have plenty of room for everyone even if it gets cold. The plan is to have the cookout 1 April 2017. Everyone is invited and bring your family and friends or some of your kids friends and show them a few planes. Montel might even invite some of her Military Aircraft friends to join. More info will follow as time goes on.....

Great. It will be nice to see you again. All you really have to bring is an appetite and some good flying stories. True ones are optional. :)

Is Sunday a wx backup? I will be in Nashville area, but would be hard to make Saturday.

Sunday would actually work better for me, have an airshow in De Funiak Springs Fla that weekend. Wife unit prefers Tn to a local airshow though . . .;)

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

It should be.
Are you going to be at John Tune airport?

Sumner County. M33. NE of Nashville. Client offices out there.

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Mike and John you guys can definitely count us in (Maggie & I), John you & Connie make a stop in Gadsden and we'll fly up together.

Great.. looking forward to it...

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

I've committed to taking a friend to Dallas - that weekend - so it's unlikely I'll be able to make the gathering - hopefully next year.

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Mike, Strictly your call, but mentioned in the thread was Sunday (2 April) an option??
Wx permitting of course.

If Mike schedules it for Sunday then Maggie and I are going to the De Funiak Springs Fla airshow with you and Connie Saturday and then we'll all fly up to Mikes on Sunday.

Right now it is still the 1st. If weather is an issue we would try the 2nd. I am coordinating with the FBO as they are letting me use there hanger with a kitchen in it this year.

There is also a volunteer group paining a Compass Rose on the ramp near where I had the cookout last year. I offered to cook for them as well on the same day.

Come to the cookout, then we can meet at Sun-In-Fun in April.... :)

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Thanks Mike,

What times do you recommend? Arrive, mingle, cookout??

Well, I'll be there probably before 10AM and be there until dark if people are still around.:)

The hanger should be easy to setup as everything I need is there. It is close to the Jet fuel tank so I have plenty of starter fuel for the charcoal.
Montel, the FBO manager may have some of her military aviators show up. May also have a few YAKS.

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Ok everyone, just a reminder. The cookout is about 10 days away. How to see a bunch of you out there.... :)

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

The 10 day weather outlook forecast is showing Savannah, TN KSNH to be bright sunny and a high of 77 degrees and a low of 60 degrees on April 1st....Hopefully this will not change and we'll have a beautiful day for the fly-in.

Re: Annual Cookout and KSNH Savannah TN.

Yes, weather forecast is good. We just returned from the store getting all the goodies for the cookout. Hope to see a lot of people come by...
