Update:

Covid-19 has had many impacts on societies around the world and has forced us to make some difficult decisions about our 2020 Fly-in at French Lick Indiana. Here’s an update.

We have already heard from many members that are uncomfortable for a variety of reasons with committing to our fly-in dates this September. Others have told us that they will have to wait to see the economic and health situation as we get closer to the scheduled event before they can commit. We certainly understand all these concerns.

While we don’t anticipate any specific Covid-19 related reasons for not having our fly-in this year, we do have to deal with the reality that as a group we have significant minimum occupancy and catering costs which we’ll incur whether 100 owners attend or 2. So accordingly, the officers have decided that we will not have an official fly-in this year, but instead will have an unofficial fly-in for these same dates and location.

What does this mean?

It means that while we won’t have a formal banquet, workshops, or other scheduled events, we are still inviting all Commander Owners and guests to join us in West Baden Springs Sept 18-20. As a resort facility there will be many opportunities for us to enjoy comradery and talk about all things Commander while at the same time we enjoy all the amenities of the historic resort which include 3 golf courses, 2 spas, a casino, and several restaurants and bars.

So if you’d like to join us, simply make your reservations at the French Lick Resort – either the French Lick Springs Hotel or the West Baden Springs Hotel (we recommend the latter) at https://www.frenchlick.com – there is free trolley service between the two hotels.

If you’ll be flying your Commander in, KFRH is nearby and the hotel offers free shuttle service.

As we get closer to the date, we will forward info about an app we will be using to help everyone find other members, arrange impromptu get-togethers or lunch/dinners, schedule fly-outs and day drips, and keep in touch.

Finally, we’ll post updates here in the Commander forums throughout the summer.
